Firstly, welcome to my blog! I have been wanting to create something like this for a while now, and I am glad that you have taken the plunge with me. Since we are new to each other, I figure like with any new relationship, I should introduce myself.
My name is Tiffany, and I am currently a non-graduating senior in college studying mechanical engineering and minoring in biomedical engineering. Now if you’re like most people I tell that to, you’re thinking at least one of 3 things:
1. “Non-graduating”? That just means I’ll be on campus next year for my fifth year. I’ll let you in on a little secret: people studying engineering and other STEM majors don’t always graduate in 4 years. Its more often 4.5-5 years.
2. “Wow, I couldn’t do that. That’s too much math and science. You must be smart.” I’ll let you in on another secret, my choice in education doesn’t make me any smarter than you. I work hard for my grades like most people, and I do it because I am a nerd and find it fascinating. There are plenty of subjects I have to work especially hard at, like English, history, foreign language, and chemistry.
3. “OMG you’re studying engineering too?!” Okay, I admit, this is usually my reaction to whenever I meet someone studying engineering, especially if it’s mechanical engineering. There is just something about meeting someone who has been going through similar class struggles as you. Maybe it’s because they have similar interests. But I also find it fascinating learning about their long term career goals since mechanical engineering is one of the broadest engineering degrees out there. You could be working in any industry from making vehicles to making other consumer products like soap or cereal.

Moving on in my little introduction, another fun fact is that I am also involved in my campus ministry, and am currently on my second year as president. In my spare time I play the cello, read, and binge-watch shows on Netflix. This year I have also gotten involved in a design team on campus, Human Powered Vehicle. Through this I have learned how to ride a 2 wheeled recumbent bicycle.
Anyways, I think that’s a pretty quick rundown of some of the basics of me. I hope you will continue to join me as I wonder through this glorious thing we call life and get to share it with you.
